 About the Designer
Jeri Thompson, a.k.a Miss Vinn, is a stylist, seamstress, costume and clothing designer based out of Los Angeles, California. Originally from Bozeman, Montana, Jeri moved to California in 2009. Since moving to Los Angeles, Miss Vinn developed a career in wardrobe costuming and styling on film and TV projects. In addition to working in wardrobe, she founded and is the sole designer and manufacturer for VinBoosey Clothing. From sketch, to pattern, to final product, each design is created locally with care. Miss Vinn's love for fashion, fabric and costume throughout history is the leading inspiration when creating each line. Working in film on period pieces has only increased her love for the early to mid 20th century classic textiles, sillouttes and the different ways she can modernize and amplify. These concepts are then applied to the designer's mantra that clothing should be "funk-tional". Meaning, each person is unique and thus their clothing should be. Yet, this is a fast paced world and style should never slow a person down.
Miss Vinn creates with the idea that fashion isn't just a practical way to cover one's body, but a means to create a mood, convey emotion and project the inner self. In the word's of Miss Vinn, "Stand out with ease be bold with grace and wear it loud!" |
